Christian Charity will use PS Financials software to provide integration of financial records and create significant efficiency savings
Bible Society, a Christian charity that works to make the Bible heard, has invested in new accounting and business management software from PS Financials, to provide better visibility, management and control of information within the organisation.
Bible Society is a Christian charity that aims to make the Bible available, relevant and credible everywhere. The society works to build bridges between the bible's message and people's everyday lives and is part of a global alliance of over 130 Bible societies around the world.
As it continues to expand its range of activities, Bible Society is moving to a project accounting model in order to have greater control and visibility of specific projects being worked on. The project costing functionality and reporting capabilities of the PS Financials system will facilitate this new accounting structure, providing Bible Society with 'real-time' accounting information that will support better decision-making within the organisation.
Philip Poole, Deputy Chief Executive of Bible Society, comments, "Our decision to change our finance system has come at a time when we are expanding and developing new business processes across the organisation and our existing bespoke system is unable to support these changes. PS Financials will provide us with a very cost-effective, flexible, user-friendly accounting system that will enable us to automate core accounting procedures and benefit from much better management information."
He continues, "One of the key advantages of PS Financials is that the system can be seamlessly integrated with our existing fund management software which we use to allocate funds to specific causes, providing us with a much clearer managerial overview of our finances. In addition, the user-defined drill-down functionality of PS Financials means that we are able to analyse information in a myriad of different ways to suit specific requirements."
PS Financials also supports a 'self-service financials' approach, where input and access to the financial system is devolved throughout an organisation. Moving forward, Bible Society will enable around 30 non-financial users to take advantage of the 'self-service' approach in order to provide project managers with greater control over their budgets and have more responsibility for project costs.
Commenting on the relationship with PS Financials, Philip Poole says, "Throughout the selection process the PS Financials team was very responsive to the questions that we raised and they were able to clearly demonstrate their technical expertise and track record in the charity sector. We have developed a good working relationship with PS Financials and feel that they are ideally sized in order for us to get the best level of service and ongoing support for our finance system." |
